Job Title: Level 2 Deskside Support Engineer

Location:Cork (Onsite 5 days - some day time shift hours)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Level 2 Deskside Support Engineer to provide advanced onsite technical support to end-users in our Cork office. This role requires a strong understanding of desktop environments, hardware diagnostics, and application troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as part of the backline support team for our client’s manufacturing operations

    Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve end-user IT issues, ranging from individual workstation problems to major production system incidents, escalating to Senior Engineers when necessary

    Deploy and troubleshoot desktop hardware and software issues (Windows/Office applications)

    Perform proactive maintenance on meeting room equipment

    Support and troubleshoot the organization’s print function (Safecom secure print)

    Deploy and troubleshoot desk and mobile phones

    Troubleshoot wireless network issues

    Support and troubleshoot VPN connections for remote workers

    Liaise with external vendors for installation and configuration of new lab instruments

    Provide onsite desktop support for LAB IT system users

    Maintain the hardware inventory database, updating it with all moves and additions in line with defined processes

    Take ownership of user tickets, providing timely updates and resolutions, escalating when appropriate

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in Deskside/IT Support

  • Proficiency in Windows 10/11, Active Directory, and Office 365

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with desktop hardware and software

  • Familiarity with SCCM, Intune, or similar device management tools

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Relevant IT certifications (CompTIA A+, Microsoft, etc.) preferred
